Hot take: maybe the best ideas aren't completely new. They're just used somewhere unexpected.
Take something out of the context it was designed for, put it somewhere it doesn’t belong, and suddenly it becomes something completely different.
I went down a rabbit hole of old TV test patterns and used them as backgrounds for the stages of my creative process. Turns out something made to calibrate broadcasts is also pretty perfect for capturing the very real chaos of making things.
What’s something you’ve used completely out of context?
35 days listed in the public Meta Ad Library. A dated observation, not proof that the ad worked.
This public-ad teardown follows a cookware message from repeated replacement to the stated value of a ceramic pan and an annual membership offer.
The test question sits in the opening: lead with the frustration of replacing cookware, or with the stated product value?
The carousel turns that observation into a proposed comparison. Change only the opening. Keep the image, remaining copy and offer fixed, then compare outbound CTR under comparable delivery conditions, with LPV rate as a guardrail.
The test has not been run. The public listing does not show delivery or campaign results.
Before making another version of an ad, can you name the one question it is meant to answer?
