Quite a few times, it’s from the transaction alert that users realize a transaction fee was deducted.
Some products assume users already know. Others simply don’t prioritize communicating it.
Sometimes the thinking is:
“The goal is for the user to complete the journey the transaction fee is negligible.”
But this can slowly diminish user trust, create transparency issues, and eventually affect retention.
Here’s a quick example from a personal project I explored: A SPLIT PAYMENT EXPERIENCE.
When users split payments, transaction fees should not be a mystery.
I explored three ways to communicate the fee:
A — Percentage only B — Actual amount only C — Percentage + actual amount
Which option would you prefer as a user?
