I’ve always been curious about AI films, so this challenge felt like a fun chance to finally try making one with CapCut. I was thinking about my grandma a lot this week, and that’s where the idea came from. I wanted to make something warm and funny about how grandmas just love to spoil. I based the characters on people in my own family too, so it ended up feeling really personal to me.
I used Seedance 2.5 to bring the story to life, and I just wish I’d had more credits because I would have loved to keep going and see what happens to these characters next.

I also tried the previous Seedance model. I liked the continuity better, but it changed my characters’ appearance quite a bit. It’s amazing how quickly AI films are becoming more natural.

I really liked that before making the film, it helps you build the synopsis, characters, and everything around the story. I based the characters on my own family, and for the house, I wanted something that felt very Brazilian, like a grandma’s house where she loves sitting...

Basing the characters on your own family is such a nice touch, it really comes through. What was trickier to nail with Seedance, the expressions or the timing between the two of them?

I think the hardest part was doing everything in one shot. With different shots, it’s easier to fix mistakes separately, but with one continuous shot, it’s much harder to correct things without using too many credits.
