Little Things: An app that's meant to get you to slow down and take in the tiny moments that you usually breeze right by.
I'm guilty of that, so I built this to encourage me to pause and reflect more often while also building a gratitude journal. On the main view of the app you’ll see your memories fading in and out of the background, giving you a nice memory every time you open the app and a warm and fuzzy screensaver on your work computer.
I had some fun with this opening view - using the background cards to my advantage and making them appear as they lazy load.
Uuu my friend was looking for a digital picture frame, this would be a perfect app for that. ❤️
It was nice to think about onboarding from a clean slate too. I played around with some more morphing effects and figured I could get people interacting before making them add all of their info.
This way, they aren’t opening a completely empty app and they might already feel...
I wanted it to feel like you’re actually editing the cards themselves, not writing in a field somewhere else and waiting for the cards to update.
Anywhere made it super easy to create these morphing menus. I wish I had more time to put this level of polish on the rest of the app.
I wanted some depth in the background so I had it add a subtle gyroscope parallax effect in the beginning too. As you tilt your phone, the photos in the background react.
Shoutout to the Anything team for creating a really cool product. I'm glad I had an excuse to build out this silly little idea I had a while back! Love being able to step away from my computer, test, and debug all from my phone.
This is as far as I was able to take it in the past...
Aww I love this!! I always look through old pictures in my camera roll but this feels like a more curated and visually friendly way to do that!
