Haven’t posted in a while, so here’s a quick update.
I left my full-time job in May to go fully independent. It’s been 5 months of this journey as a creative and biz owner.
What’s been happening since:
- 3 active clients +1 new engagement starting next week
- Working with teams across 3 continents
- 3 UX audits (1 full product + 2 features)
- 4 feature redesigns
- Redesigning my own studio logo (will share soon)
- Started a Substack documenting the full-time freelance journey (you can check it here)
- Building my 1st product
- Meetings, meetings, meetings
- Lots of iterations and pixels being pushed, powered by matcha and latte
The biggest shift was thinking about the business side. Brand positioning, financial strategy, how to grow a business sustainably as a solo studio. Still figuring things out, but the foundation feels solid now.
A lot more to share soon. For now, back to pushing pixels. 🍵
Sometimes, all it takes is being in the right space, surrounded by the right energy, to remind you of what’s possible.
I joined Contra just a few weeks ago, and honestly, I didn’t expect to feel this inspired so quickly. There’s something about this community, the creativity, the people, and the opportunities that makes me feel like things are finally moving. 🌱
Ideas are turning into action. Connections are happening. New possibilities are opening up. And most importantly, I’m feeling more excited about what I’m building and where I’m going.
It’s still the beginning, but I can already feel the shift. And that’s what makes it so special. 🤍
Most early-stage brands play it safe and disappear after a while. For Drylendar, I did the opposite.
3 weeks from brief to full identity: logo, illustration system, app visuals, collectible cards and even merch.
AI makes things cheaper. Personality makes brands memorable.
This is exactly what branding should be! 🔥 3 weeks for full identity, merch, cards - you really built personality, not just a logo. Love the Drylendar vibe. AI makes it cheap, but this makes it memorable - so true!
