A Day at Ikorodu Garage, Lagos

Loud. Crowded. Alive. This is the Ikorodu bus stop, shot on location as a field project with my smartphone videography students.

I chose this place on purpose. Real jobs like campaigns, outreaches and street coverage put you in exactly this kind of environment: noise, movement, strangers approaching you, and nobody waiting for you to get your shot.

Here is what we worked through on the day:

Handling people who walk up to you while you are filming

Controlling harsh sunlight when you cannot move the sun

Sound control and sound management in a noisy space

Telling a complete story even when you cannot capture as many clips as you want

The result is a raw look at Ikorodu through a phone lens, and a lesson in shooting under pressure.
