Two guests want the same apartment for the same weekend. Both say they have sent a bank transfer.
Picture the host who has to sort that out from chat threads and bank alerts.
That scene is what I built ShortletPro around: a short-let booking marketplace with separate dashboards for guests, hosts and a platform admin.
How one booking moves through it:
The guest sees taken dates blocked on the calendar and picks a free range.
The server checks for an overlap again before saving.
The guest uploads a transfer receipt.
The host confirms the payment and the guest is emailed.
If there is a problem, guest and host talk in a dispute thread that the admin can close.
The moment I had to rethink things came when I prepared a public demo. A clean install showed that the table behind the dispute chat had been created by hand on a server and was never part of the setup scripts. On a fresh copy, the chat would have failed.
For a business owner, that is the difference between software that runs on one machine and software you can move, restore from a backup, or hand to another developer. It now installs from scratch, and one command wipes and reseeds the demo data.
Try it as guest, host or admin: https://shortletpro.opromise.dev
