Optometría CIO — Clinical Instrument Concept | Technology-Based Design · BID Madrid 2021
Concept development of a compact and portable clinical hardware system designed to house and protect optical diagnostic components developed by the Center for Research in Optics A.C. (CIO)—oriented toward accessible telemedicine applications and remote diagnostic workflows for underserved communities.
The design process integrated human-centered design principles, material perception strategy, ergonomic handling requirements, and clinical usability considerations—developing a system where high-quality material selection, intuitive interaction, and structural protection coexist with portability and battery autonomy to support field deployment and telemedicine implementation.
