This concept is born from this question: how could a smartwatch interface feel more playful and motivating for runners, instead of just showing numbers?

On the watch screen, a small, cute character runs—its speed matching the runner’s speed in real time. Walk, jog, sprint… the character reacts instantly, turning effort into visual feedback. Designed and animated entirely in @rive.app , this experiment explores how motion, interaction, and character animation can make wearable experiences more engaging—especially on tiny screens. There’s still a lot more that could be done with it. I’ll probably work on it again in the future.

We've been working with @Jack Saltel VOVY Company (4 month already of collab on @Contra ) on their mascot, branding, web design, and more. Excited to see them go live in Times Square! The interesting thing is that the character was animated in @Rive and exported as a video asset to use on the Times Square banner, since it has already been rigged there for many other web actions and interactions, using some cool poses and states we will be showing soon. Big shout out to @Junior Fonseca and @Daniel Aleman Robaina, part of our team, who have been working on this collaboration!
