What if a small retail store could turn its existing CCTV into a real-time loss-prevention layer — without replacing its cameras?
I've been working on RetailSentra, a computer-vision system for detecting suspicious retail behavior from live CCTV/RTSP streams.
The attached Chicago retail footage shows the type of environment I'm working with. The interesting engineering challenge isn't simply detecting people or products — it's understanding behavior across time and turning potentially important events into actionable alerts for store staff.
I'm especially interested in how this can help small and mid-sized retailers that already have cameras but don't have someone watching every screen.
