Built an entire 3D interactive sports card in Rive using nothing but their CLI.
Every element was built and rendered directly in Rive. No Blender, no imported 3D models, and no external rendering software. Just the CLI, code, and a lot of experimenting.
The card can rotate 360°, has a fully designed front and back, and lets me swap out athletes without rebuilding the entire thing.
Built this for the Loyal + True Marketing website, and it’s been a pretty incredible way to explore what’s possible with Rive beyond traditional animation.
The fact that I can build something like this entirely through the CLI and bring it straight into a live website is wild.
The way the letters stretch and reveal themselves in that typography feels almost cinematic. H3 handles motion blur really well for this kind of editorial animation.
A part from the Landys promo I animated. The arc paints itself out of job photos, then collapses into the app feed.
Do you think that style matches the theme?
The way the arc paints itself out of the photos before collapsing into the feed has a nice build-up-and-release rhythm to it. Did you time that reveal to a specific beat in the audio, or was the pacing locked before sound came into the mix?
