I’m thinking of trying my luck on Contra. I’m already fairly successful on Upwork, with around $70K earned and a 100% Job Success Score.
However, Upwork has become quite expensive, especially with the cost of submitting proposals. So I’m wondering—is moving to Contra actually worth it?
How difficult is it to land projects on Contra compared to Upwork? I’d also love to hear from anyone who has moved from Upwork to Contra. What has your experience been like?

For over six months, I've been consistently applying to projects and jobs here on Contra. So far, I haven't been selected for a single contract or project.
On paper, I feel like I've done everything right:

Yet none of it has turned into actual work.
I'm not writing this to complain. I genuinely want to understand what's happening. Is this common for others too? Are clients mostly hiring through their own networks? Is there something about proposals, pricing, or profiles that makes the real difference?
