How I Built an AI Repricing Engine on Amazon's SP-API
Most Amazon repricing tools do the same thing: watch competitors and race to the lowest price. That's a margin killer sellers end up in a race to the bottom just to hold the Buy Box.
For Price Optimizer Pro, I flipped the logic. Instead of just matching competitor prices, the system watches for competitor stockouts the moment a rival seller runs out of inventory, the engine raises your price automatically, since you're no longer competing for the sale. You win margin instead of just winning the Buy Box.
What's under the hood:
Connects directly through the Amazon SP-API for real-time competitor and inventory data
A catalogue view across thousands of SKUs cost, profit, margin, ranking, and Buy Box status per listing
Inventory allocation broken down by units, cost, and retail value
Brand-level ROI reporting so sellers can see performance beyond just individual listings
A live repricer activity log so sellers can see exactly why a price changed, not just that it did
Built on a React front end with a NestJS backend, handling constant API polling without hammering rate limits
The hardest part wasn't the pricing logic it was making thousands of SKU-level decisions run reliably in near real-time without drowning in Amazon's API rate limits.
If you're building something that needs to talk to a marketplace API (Amazon, eBay, Shopify) and make automated decisions at scale, this is the kind of problem I like solving.
