A polished AI demo is easy to build. An AI workflow people can actually rely on is the hard part.
That’s the difference I keep coming back to when I work on AI agents, custom MCPs, API integrations, and product experiences.
The interesting question isn’t just:
“Can we add AI to this product?”
It’s:
What should the AI be allowed to do?
Which tools and data does it actually need?
What happens when it gets something wrong?
Where does a human need to stay in control?
Does the workflow save someone effort or just add another step?
That’s why I’m interested in the whole system, not just the chatbot screen: the interface, integrations, guardrails, and the business task behind them.
I’ve been exploring these ideas across projects in custom MCP development, AI automations, MVP product design, and intelligent business infrastructure.
My take: the best AI product often isn’t the one that feels the most “AI-powered.” It’s the one that quietly removes friction from a real task.
What would you prioritize first when building an AI product: a smarter model, better integrations, or a clearer user workflow? I’d genuinely like to hear your reasoning.
