Walkabout – React Native Migration, Notifications & Location

Walkabout is a cross-platform iOS and Android mobile app focused on exploration, fitness, and guided walking experiences. I led the transition from a native/hybrid codebase to a full React Native app, significantly improving performance and maintainability. Overhauled the push notification system—previously a major reliability issue—and implemented accurate location tracking to support interactive routes and challenges. The result was a more stable, scalable mobile app with improved user engagement.
