Here’s my submission for the #scriptingwithrive challenge!

Sea of Memories is a conceptual prototype exploring an idea I’ve been developing: a platform for children who grew up in foster care (like myself) who often struggle to remember the full timeline of their childhood, including positive memories. The concept brings together the memories that were collected for them into a playful and intuitive experience.

It's visualized as a sea of dots representing a person’s life, allowing users to freely navigate and discover memories organically, rather than following a strict timeline.

I used scripting to create and interact with the dot field, with data binding handling the display of memories. I also experimented with a converter script to transform date entries, just for fun 🙂

I forgot to mention but the dot field has controls for spacing, color, size, rotation, depth of field, perspective distortion, drag sensitivity, and much more, which allowed me to position it exactly as I wanted to.
