DEVELOPMENTAL EDITING & MANUSCRIPT ASSESSMENT

Self-directed case study on my unpublished Patagonian noir novel, La segunda muerte de Lali Morano. I assessed the full manuscript for structure, voice, pacing, character, thematic coherence, and factual exposure.

The editorial decision: preserve the plot architecture and Bruno Reinhardt’s fallibility; tighten repeated comparisons and explanations after scenes; then fact-check legal procedure, chronology, and Río Gallegos details. A structural rewrite would weaken the manuscript’s central move from “Where is Lali?” to “Who gets to define her?”

This demonstrates my editorial method. It is my own writing project, not a client commission or a publication claim.
