We are drowning in noise, and at the end of the day, the endless scroll cannot give us peace. A Thousand Years a Minute is a 2-minute narrative short film and a deeply personal confession of inner thoughts. Told through the perspective of a single character, it stands as an auto-critique of digital consumerism and the exhausting performance of keeping up a fake persona. Exploring the hyper-claustrophobic sensation of how overwhelming social media feels, the film visually uses the screen as a mirror to reflect the character's internal suffering. The title itself—split into the typography "A THOU SAND"—evokes an hourglass, representing the physical passing of time and the sand slipping through the glass while we are distracted. Ultimately, this piece is about reaching past the superficial noise and the algorithm to listen to what our souls are actually telling us. It is a search for true spiritual peace in the in-between.
