I recently created a quick concept where you can get a free boost for your post on X... but only if you beat Elon Musk in a retro boxing game. It's obviously an extreme example, and it probably works because Elon is one of those rare personalities who has become part of the platform's culture. But I'm not saying you should make your users punch your client in the face! The point is that most digital products have become incredibly efficient and increasingly forgettable. We've optimized for clicks, conversions, and speed, while removing much of the personality that makes experiences memorable. Not every product needs a mini-game. Not every CEO should become a final boss. But almost every product could benefit from a little more surprise, playfulness, and human connection.
