What I Built & Why

Running a small business or local retail shop is tough, but marketing shouldn't be[cite: 5]. To solve this, I built BizBoost AI—an all-in-one web application designed to completely automate marketing workflows for local merchants, retail stores, and service providers[cite: 5].

I built 'PingBase' for Studio 9 Hair, a busy salon in Shoreditch, London.: Like many appointment-based businesses that showcase their work on social media, Studio Nine’s bookings rarely start on a booking page. They start in the places customers already talk to them... Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger. PingBase is an AI booking agent that lives inside those chat platforms and conversations. It can answer customer questions, understand booking intent, check Studio Nine’s real availability, book appointments, reschedule or cancel them, update the calendar, collect deposits, send reminders and follow up automatically. When something genuinely needs human judgement, PingBase hands the conversation over to the team with the relevant context already attached. Studio Nine has a few operational quirks that make booking more complicated than simply asking whether 2 pm is free:

1. A large share of enquiries arrive through Instagram DMs and WhatsApp rather than the website.

2. Stylists are usually with customers, so replying to messages interrupts the work they are already doing.

3. Slow responses usually mean losing a potential booking entirely. And since customers dont go to their website by default, they need to respond to any messages quickly

4. First-time customers often want to ask questions before they are ready to book. And customers wouldn't usually just click a link to book at first contact

5. Many questions are repetitive, while customers rarely want to stop and hunt through an FAQ page for answers.

6. Customers often ask to reschedule by sending messages through social messaging channels where they originally booked.

Missed reminders contribute to no-shows. PingBase removes much of that manual back-and-forth by turning the conversation the customer is already having into the booking itself.
