EasyRedact - Office Add-in Developer I recently completed a personal project called EasyRedact, a Microsoft Word add-in built to automatically redact sensitive information from documents.
Using my background in React and regex-based text processing, I designed EasyRedact to identify and redact common types of confidential data such as email addresses, phone numbers, and SSNs, helping convert documents with sensitive content into confidential-ready files.
This project allowed me to work hands-on with:
Office.js
TypeScript
React
HTML and CSS
Automation and regex-driven text processing
The code is available on GitHub, and I’ve included a few screenshots below showing EasyRedact in action. While there are some minor bugs that could be refined with additional time, the core functionality is solid and easily extensible. https://github.com/AlecOverman/office-challenge
