Buna (ቡና) coffee in Amharic. But in Ethiopia, Buna is never just coffee.
It's a ritual passed down for generations. Three rounds. Three meanings. One community.
I built an interactive 3D experience that lets you explore the Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony, recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. A handcrafted clay Jebena with traditional etched geometric patterns sits at the center, surrounded by Sini cups on a woven Rekebot tray, a roasting pan with green beans, and a burning Etan incense holder.
Click each object to discover the three rounds: ☕ Abol - The first round. Raw beans are roasted over coals. The aroma invites everyone to gather. ☕ Tona - The second round. Brewed in the Jebena, this is considered the richest pour. ☕ Baraka - The blessing. The final round, shared in community, respect, and togetherness.
Drag to rotate the scene. Click to explore.
Concept & Visual Style: Museum-quality 3D object showcase with dramatic rim lighting against a dark background. The visual language draws from Ethiopian craft traditions, hand-etched clay, woven Mesob basketry in red and gold, warm earth tones, and gold accents. Every texture tells a story.
How I imagine it being used: As an interactive cultural experience for Ethiopian restaurants, tourism websites, cultural organizations, or educational platforms. Embeddable via Spline's React/Next.js export, production-ready, not just a prototype.
Built 100% in Omma by Spline. All layers properly named and organized. Layouts used for alignment.
This is my first time using Omma and I'm genuinely impressed by what's possible. Ethiopian culture deserves a place in the future of interactive digital experiences, this is my small step toward that.

Really cool way to share your culture and traditions, maybe consider adding some micro-animations to show how the process happens.

Thank you very much, I'll add some micro-animations. It's just my limit restricted me, I will do it in Claude Code and share it on my post.
