I built KAUKAU - a modern bowl inspired by the ancient Egyptian Marsh Bowl from 1550 BCE at the Met Museum. The original bowl celebrated the Nile marsh and the harvest with painted papyrus and fish. I reimagined it as a modern Ugandan food bowl, celebrating Uganda's seasonal delicacy of fried grasshoppers served on a fresh green banana leaf. Inside the bowl I wrote KAUKAU to brand it as a product that connects ancient history to modern Ugandan culture. I created this with FLORA using museum lighting and a clean product style photo.
