Directus is very versatile, and can be used to support many different types of apps. I have used directus as a back end for an eCommerce store, with basic inventory management.

There is an inventory collection and an order collection. Using a hook i created in directus, when an order comes in, the number of items bought is automatically deducted from the inventory. Observe the screenshots below the inventory collection shows a restock of 10 units of the Samsung S25 and an order that was processed showing a - 1 deduction.

In the products collection the Samsung S25 shows number of units 9. Just brief demonstration of what directus can do.
