446 downloads in the first 24 hours. From zero. 🌱
Yesterday I shipped dendra — and didn’t expect day-one numbers like this.
What it is: a lightweight, typed RPC/REST framework for Next.js where every procedure is also an LLM tool and an MCP server — with zero extra work.
The core idea: a procedure and an AI tool are the same shape — a name, an input schema, a validated handler. So dendra treats them as one thing. You define a procedure once, and it becomes:
→ a typed client (pure inference, no codegen) → a REST endpoint + OpenAPI → streaming & real-time subscriptions → an LLM tool (Anthropic / OpenAI) → an MCP server Claude can connect to
And it runs both ways: your app can also consume external MCP servers and merge their tools into the same agent loop.
No decorators. No codegen. Zero runtime dependencies in the core.
I built it because the typed-API space (tRPC, ts-rest, Hono) nails HTTP but treats AI as a bolt-on. dendra makes it native.
It’s early — v0.1.1, pre-1.0 — but 446 downloads on day one says the problem is real.

Would love feedback — especially from anyone building agentic features on Next.js.
