A simple After Effects effect can go a surprisingly long way.
I wanted to experiment with a liquid-style text animation, so I tried using CC Smear in different ways across individual letters.
Instead of using the same settings everywhere, I used different smear directions and values to create stretches, flows and drips.
Then I added some gradient, glow and a soft background treatment to finish the look.
No third-party plugins, just After Effects and a bit of experimentation.
Here's the final result. 👀

Recreating award sites is such a good way to get GSAP timing right. Doing two variations of the intro is a great habit, comparing them side by side teaches a lot.
