Split — share project income with your team, automatically.
If you run a small studio, you know this one: a client pays, and now that money has to be split between three freelancers and a partner. One gets a percentage, one a fixed fee per payment, one a fee once per project. Different currencies, different bank accounts. Then you chase an invoice from every person, every month. It all lives in spreadsheets, screenshots and chats, and you redo the math each time.
So I built Split:. Money comes in, Split reads it, matches it to a project, divides it by that project's terms, and at month end prepares one invoice per person for each account the money arrived on. The system does the arithmetic. You only handle the exceptions.
Try it: https://spl1t-app.base44.app 🚀 Pick "I already use Split", open Hartwell Studio, go to Payouts and press "Run month-end now". Watch six invoices appear, with one held because that person has no payout details yet.
Automation • Add income in any form: drop a bank statement, a PDF invoice, a screenshot, or just type "Fjord paid $1,000 on Oct 26". AI picks out the client payments only (no fees or payroll), finds the payer, the project and the bank account, and asks only when it can't tell • It flags what needs a look: a payer it doesn't know, a possible duplicate, a project without terms • Every payment is divided by the project's rules: percent of net, a fixed fee per payment, a fixed fee once per project, plus bonuses. The rest stays with the studio • Month end builds every invoice in one go: one per person, per account. No payout details? The invoice is held until they're added • Paying five people is one file: select invoices and export a batch file for your bank (ACH, Wise, PayPal, SEPA, Revolut), then mark them paid, with Undo • Contractors get their own side: their invoices go out on their own, and they just confirm the money arrived
Design A calm, ledger-like look: warm beige, deep brown, Erode for titles, Geist for the interface and Geist Mono for money, so numbers always line up. No shouting caps. Onboarding shows the real app filling in next to the form as you type, then expands into your workspace. The phone layout is designed on its own: a tab bar with Add in the middle, details as full pages.
How it was built I designed the product first: the rules, the flows and every state. Then I handed it to Base44 in numbered, checkable steps (data and logic, payouts and invoices, the AI chat, the member side, onboarding, the phone layout) and built it with its AI agent. After every step I checked the result against the design and the expected numbers, like October's $31,008.30 received and $16,520.64 split to the team.
(The demo is a sandbox with fictional studios, people and clients, so you can try every role right away. No real money moves: the batch files are for you to upload to your bank.)
