Every few years a new gadget arrives and someone calls it the future. I kept wondering what a silversmith from 1610 would call it.
So for the Contra × Recraft Archive Style Challenge,
I found a silver dish made by Adam van Vianen in 1610. It’s in the Rijksmuseum’s public domain collection, covered in engraved leaves and scrollwork. I turned it into a custom Recraft Style and gave it a brief he could never have imagined: a scooter, headphones, a drone, a game controller.
The result is Silver Service, the first collection from Hollow & Argent, a silver house that has existed since 1610 (it hasn’t, I made it up).
Eight pieces: a speaker, a scooter, a phone, a drone, headphones, a game controller, a takeaway box and a laptop. Every one is engraved with the same leaves, set on cream with a red oval. The house’s rule is simple: nothing leaves the workshop without leaves on it.

A silversmith from 1610 meeting today's gadgets is a great premise. Beautiful finish.
