What is CreditKey?
CreditKey is a project I created to address a problem I noticed while using AI-powered development platforms like Lovable: credit limitations can interrupt the development process.
The idea behind CreditKey is to provide a simple system where developers can purchase an activation key for a specific period of time and use it through a browser extension. Instead of having to constantly worry about running out of credits while building, the goal is to make the development experience more continuous and flexible.
I designed CreditKey as more than just a website. I wanted it to be a complete product with a clear user journey: the user discovers the service, chooses the duration they need, selects the number of devices, purchases a key, and then activates it through the extension.
Why did I make it?
I created CreditKey because I saw an opportunity around one of the biggest frustrations of AI-assisted development: usage limitations.
When I'm building an application with an AI coding platform, I often need to make many iterations. I might ask the AI to fix a bug, change the UI, add a feature, modify the database, or completely redesign a section. These interactions can consume credits quickly.
When the credits run out, the development process can be interrupted.
So I wanted to create a solution focused on continuity. My idea was to make the process simple: instead of making the user think about credits all the time, they can choose the amount of time they need and activate a key.
What makes the idea different?
One thing I focused on was flexibility.
I didn't want to create only one fixed subscription. Different developers have different needs.
Someone working on a quick project might only need a week.
Someone developing an MVP might need a month.
A developer working on a long-term project might prefer a yearly option.
I also added a custom-duration option because sometimes developers only need access for a specific period, such as a hackathon, development sprint, or client project.
I also considered multi-device usage because developers often work from more than one computer.
How does the business model work?
The business model is based on selling activation keys for different periods.
Users can choose the duration they need and, depending on their requirements, add additional devices.
This gives CreditKey a simple SaaS-style monetization model based on time-limited licenses.
What was my goal?
My goal wasn't simply to build another website.
I wanted to take a real problem I encountered in AI-assisted development and turn it into a simple, understandable product.
I wanted the experience to be straightforward:
Discover CreditKey → choose a plan → purchase a key → activate → continue building.
Through this project, I also wanted to explore how a technical idea can become an actual product, including the landing page, pricing system, user experience, licensing concept, browser extension, and customer support.
In short
I created CreditKey because I wanted to solve a problem I experienced with AI-assisted development: the interruption caused by credit limitations.
The project combines a web platform, activation-key system, browser extension, flexible pricing, and multi-device support into one product.
For me, CreditKey is an experiment in turning a technical problem into a real SaaS/product concept that can potentially serve developers who rely heavily on AI to build software.

running out of credits mid-build is way too real haha, good luck!
