I went through all 214 open jobs on the Contra board today and sorted them by what clients are asking for. My count, with categories that overlap at the edges.
• Video, motion and animation: 78 (36%)
• Brand and graphic design: 42 (20%). Typical fixed budget: $1,000–$2,000
• Marketing and content: 35 · Web: 22 · Development: 17 · Product and UI: 8
• 37 posts (17%) mention AI in the title, roles or tools
• 79 posts (37%) set a country, language or time-zone requirement. 28 are US-only.
What I take from it as a brand designer.
1. Identities have to move. If a brand system has no rules for motion, someone else improvises them.
2. AI made concepts cheap, not production. A few briefs I read this week asked designers to rebuild AI-generated concepts as clean vector, dielines and print files.
3. Read the job requirements before writing a proposal. More than a third of the board filters by location, language or time zone.
