Just shared MARÉ, a contemporary Portuguese conservas branding and packaging project.
Inspired by Portuguese visual culture, this project combines tradition with a fresh and modern approach through pattern, color, and illustration.
how do you motivate yourself, as an entrepreneur, during the down seasons?
for me, i look back over my work and ensure I remember I have so much to be proud of!
it's been a slow season in my business recently but i am SO proud of many things, including that i'm almost at the next Contra earnings milestone!
what's crazy is, i got a lead from Contra for my biggest retainer check to date in February but they used their own payroll (outside of Contra) so I really have already hit the $50k+ from Contra
but by the end of the year, I will have made $50k ON Contra! 🔥 wow, what a dream come true 🥹
Looking back at past work is one of the best ways to ground yourself when client work slows down. Rebuilding your portfolio with those proud milestones usually sets up the next big wave of projects.
Crafting the Visual Identity for Elichi Coffee | Case Study
For Elichi, the goal was to build a brand identity that captures the ritual of craft coffee. The visual direction balances modern simplicity with a warm, sensory feel—creating a clean yet inviting identity across every touchpoint.
Design Highlights:
Custom Typography: Paired clean, modern letterforms with subtle editorial accents to establish an elevated, boutique feel.
Packaging & Collateral: Used generous white space and structured layout grids so the physical packaging feels premium in hand.
Palette & Materials: Blended deep, roasted tones with soft, muted neutrals to reflect the warmth of the space and the richness of the brew.
I’d love to get your feedback on this direction:
How does the balance between modern typography and warm tones feel to you?
Does the packaging strike the right balance between minimal and welcoming?
