The Worst Way to L.A. 🌋🧊

For the CapCut World LA Challenge, I created a short, absurd sitcom-inspired comedy about a girl from Armenia who finds the most ridiculous way to get to Los Angeles.

My creative process:

Concept & Storytelling: I came up with the original idea, storyline, characters, and comedic moments.

Visuals & AI Generation: I created the character, environments, and individual video scenes using CapCut.

Editing: I combined all the generated clips in CapCut, adding transitions, sound effects, dialogue, and sitcom-style title cards.

Music: I generated an original comedy-inspired soundtrack using Suno.

The goal was to combine cinematic realism with ridiculous situations, expressive emotions, and classic sitcom humor.

What happens when you want to attend CapCut World so badly that you’re willing to travel through different dimensions to get there?

One Click Away follows a young man whose simple computer click sends him on an extraordinary adventure through an underwater world, a futuristic neon city, a pixelated dimension, and breathtaking floating islands. After a brief encounter with a sparrow, he finds himself falling from the sky toward CapCut World. Will he make it? Let’s just say he sticks the landing!

Behind the scenes: How I created it

Explored different styles: Experimented with several versions of the concept, including an illustrated, animation-inspired style, before settling on photorealism for the best results.

Created a character sheet: Developed externally to establish the protagonist’s appearance, outfit, and identity.

Generated scene visuals: Created external visual references for each environment to lock in the locations, atmosphere, lighting, and overall visual direction.

Brought everything into CapCut: Imported the character sheet and scene visuals as references for video generation.

Generated the final film: Used Seedance 2.5 with the prepared assets and strict character-reference instructions to create the 30-second short film, aiming for consistent character details, seamless transitions, and a cohesive cinematic experience.

And yes… I went through A LOT of versions and used A LOT of credits to get here. 😭 Every experiment helped me refine the concept until I arrived at the final result.
