This was so fun! Thanks for the challenge @Recraft 😍
OFF THE CUFF. Business on top. Personality underneath.
You know those businessmen who wear perfectly tailored suits, polished shoes, and then surprise you with the most colorful socks when they sit down? I've always loved that little detail. 😂
When I discovered Albert Racinet's...

A new day, a new design to share! 📸
This time it is a photography challenge app that brings creativity and competition together through contests, voting, and gamification. What do you think of this one? ✨
In the Wellcome Collection I found a little-known set of trade portraits painted around 1840 by an unnamed artist from Tanjore, in present-day Tamil Nadu.
Each plate shows a working man and “his wife” on a flat yellow ground under a cloudy sky, with long brushy shadows and a line of palms on the horizon.
I built a Recraft Style from these plates and sent the same painter to record eight professions of Madras in 2026: an EV cab driver, a cardiologist, an architect, a grooming-studio owner, a millet-café founder, fashion designers, pastry chefs and laundry founders. The poses and staging echo the originals, but the roles have moved on...
Three are shown here; the full series of eight is in the Recraft project, and the video brings all of them to life to a mridangam score.
Same trades two centuries later is a strong idea, and the yellow ground carries over really nicely.
I found
A Barber’s Shop in the Wellcome Collection, a public-domain coloured etching after W. H. Bunbury and decided it needed a very bad Tuesday. I cropped off its caption and border, built a custom @Recraft Style from it, and told a Georgian barber to cope with selfie sticks, delivery scooters, drones, video calls, robot vacuums and a smart mirror with opinions.
The result is Opening Night at the Barber's Puppet Theatre: eight acts in which the Maestro keeps trimming through everything with a perfectly straight face, the Customer panics for all of us, and a black cat in a bow tie steals every scene. Nobody in 1807 asked for a robot vacuum to eat their wig, but the etching took it remarkably well. The Style is public, so you can ruin a Georgian's afternoon too.
Curtain Up: The Infinite Selfie. One face, five mirrors, zero regrets.
Act I: Special Delivery Tsunami. Your pizza has arrived, and so has everyone else's.
Act II: Drone vs Scissors Duel. The Maestro blinked at nothing.
Act III: The Video Call Tribunal. Your worst haircuts have joined the meeting.
Interval: The Hair Symphony. It's a good hairstyle, but the wigs sing.
Act IV: The Robot Vacuum Colosseum. The wigs didn't make it.
Act V: The Smart Mirror Roast Battle. The mirror's feedback was not requested.
Curtain Call: All Disasters Bow. Five stars. Would panic again. series continued in the comments
Last one from the series to close it out! Also added a quick look at the animation tests and BTS in the main post above if anyone wants to see the puppets in motion.
