Booking a ferry shouldn't require a tech degree—especially in a retirement paradise. 🚢🌲
Hullo Ferries has completely changed how we cross the strait from Nanaimo to downtown Vancouver. It is a fantastic, fast foot-passenger service. But for the older demographic heavily utilizing the route, navigating strict luggage policies, parking rules, and a complex ticketing UI can cause real friction at the terminal.
For the @Base44 #GiveItAGlow challenge, I decided to build a hometown solution in public.
Meet the Hullo Concierge—an accessibility-first frontend layer designed specifically to lower the cognitive load for seniors preparing for their journey. Instead of attempting to replace Hullo's proprietary ticketing backend, I built a high-utility travel companion.
Here is what I built entirely in Base44 this week:
Accessible Design: A warm Pacific Northwest colour palette (Douglas fir greens and sandstone) with massive, high-contrast typography.
Frictionless AI Superagent: A custom-trained FAQ agent. No blank-page syndrome—users can tap quick-reply chips to instantly learn about parking or arrival times.
The Journey Action Plan: A guided Trip Planner that converts passenger and luggage inputs into a clear, chronological travel itinerary before handing them off to the official booking site.

I built the digital experience for The Grand Pavilion — Wedding & Event Venue using Base44.
Before: couples had to ask the same questions manually — availability, packages, pricing, capacity, booking steps, and event details.
After: I created a live wedding venue experience with a cinematic website, guided enquiry flow, venue package discovery, booking management, and automation to help the business capture qualified leads faster.
The goal was not just to make the venue look better.
It was to make the whole booking journey feel easier, clearer, and more premium — for both couples and the venue team.

For the #GiveItAGlow challenge, I built a complete corporate event planning website in Base44 for. A real local business that helps companies plan AGMs, company retreats, team building events, executive meetings, award ceremonies, and employee appreciation events.
The goal was not just to redesign the website visually, but to create a useful digital system that helps the business attract, qualify, and manage corporate event inquiries.
The new website includes a premium, mobile-responsive homepage, detailed service pages, case studies, a blog section, an FAQ experience, and a clear event planning flow for potential clients.
I also added business automations to make the site more useful:
Visitors can submit their event details through an event brief builder. The system then captures the lead, organizes the inquiry, calculates planning complexity, and creates a structured event brief for the business owner.
The site also includes an AI FAQ chatbot that answers questions about services, event types, timelines, venue support, catering, AV, pricing process, and next steps. It helps guide visitors toward the right service and encourages them to submit an event brief.
For the business owner, I added an admin dashboard to view new inquiries, check event details, update lead status, review generated briefs, and manage follow-ups.
This makes the website more than a landing page. It becomes a working lead capture and event inquiry management system for the business.
