Soana is a freelance marketplace built specifically for the Web3 industry — a place where clients hiring for blockchain work and the specialists who do it can find each other and transact without relying on traditional payment rails.
The problem
Mainstream freelance platforms weren't designed for crypto-native work. They don't support on-chain payments, they take a heavy cut, and payouts to freelancers in emerging markets are slow and often restricted. At the same time, the trust problem is sharper in Web3 than anywhere else: both sides are usually pseudonymous, and there's no obvious neutral party to hold funds while work is in progress.
The solution
I designed and built Soana around three ideas:
Crypto-native payments. Deals are settled in TON, so payouts are fast and borderless, with no bank intermediaries.
Smart-contract escrow. Funds are locked on-chain when a project starts and released when the work is accepted. Neither side has to trust the other — the contract enforces the terms.
A Web3-first taxonomy. Categories are built around what this market actually hires for: smart contract development, dApp engineering, tokenomics and audits, alongside design, content and marketing — instead of forcing crypto work into generic "IT services" buckets.
What I built
Marketplace flows end to end: project posting, talent discovery, proposals, and deal lifecycle from brief to release of funds
Escrow logic and wallet integration on the TON network
Separate experiences for the two sides of the market — client-side hiring and freelancer-side profiles, portfolios and applications
Full UI/UX design system and the production frontend
Service taxonomy and category architecture, informed by research into what Web3 teams actually outsource
Analytics and tracking setup for launch
My role
End-to-end: market and competitor research, product architecture, UX and visual design, frontend development, blockchain payment integration, and launch.
Result
A live, working marketplace where a Web3 client and a freelancer can go from first contact to a paid, escrow-protected deal entirely on-chain.
