A declining market doesn't always mean a declining opportunity.
I was looking at the latest CMS usage statistics, and one thing caught my attention.
📉 WordPress powers around 40.1% of all websites.
📉 Joomla powers around 1.1%.
These figures show a changing landscape. But here's the question I find more interesting:
Does a smaller market mean there is no business left?
Not necessarily.
Thousands of existing websites still need:
🔧 CMS migrations and version upgrades
🔒 Security fixes and malware removal
⚡ Performance optimization
🛠️ Custom extensions and functionality
🐛 Bug fixing and ongoing technical support
Businesses don't always need a complete rebuild. Sometimes, they need an experienced developer who can solve a difficult problem in the system they already use.
That's where specialist expertise matters.
My take: Don't just follow the biggest technology. Become exceptionally good at solving the problems its users face.

That’s impressive progress. Which platform was the hardest to master when you were starting out?
My prediction for the future of work is AI Art Director - AI will create 1000 logos but clients will pay PREMIUM for humans who can pick the one that feels Luxury. Like my AWF 2027 identity.
