Saturday morning. Coffee's hot. Notifications are quiet.
I'm not in the Config Makeathon.
And I have to say - watching from the outside this week has been one of the more interesting experiences I've had since starting to build in public.
Jan's Claude + Figma prototype getting 11K views. Dian's typing game. Isum's Data Tornado. Abhishek's Rangoli Studio. People shipping actual products in days.
There's a kind of energy in a deadline that nothing else replicates. You stop overthinking. You just build.
I've been thinking about that a lot this week with RankAsAnswer.
Because here's the honest truth: I don't have a deadline forcing me to ship. No challenge. No prize. No external accountability. Just me, a half-finished product, and the permanent low-grade anxiety of wondering if I'm moving fast enough.
The Makeathon builders have something I don't right now- clarity of purpose for a fixed window of time.
So I made my own deadline this morning.
By next Saturday, my landing page will say exactly what I do in one sentence that a human AND an AI can understand instantly. Not "AI search optimization." Something real. Something specific.
That's it. That's my Makeathon.
