When the Gods Went Silent
What remains when a civilization disappears, but its sacred places endure?
Inspired by the ancient Temple of Dendur, this work imagines a distant future in which humanity has vanished and nature has slowly reclaimed the world. The temple still stands—weathered, eroded, and surrounded by an immense desert—while only faint traces of the civilization that built it remain.
A partially buried stone hand emerges from the earth, suggesting a forgotten statue and a forgotten people. There are no survivors, no machines, and no spectacle—only silence.
The work explores memory, impermanence, and the endurance of human creation. The temple, once built to honor gods, becomes a monument to humanity itself.
The gods went silent. Humanity disappeared. But the stone remembered.
