I built a tool that turns a hand-drawn illustration into an automatic parallax animation—no animation skills required. It’s called LAYER FLOAT.
It was inspired by parallax as a common web interaction pattern, and I wanted to make “draw-only” motion graphics that anyone can create.
Play with it: demo URL
How it works: draw your scene in 4 depth layers (back → front). Back layers move slower, front layers move faster—so you get depth “for free.”
Design choices I cared about: ・The drawing order becomes the structure (numbers = depth) ・Always-on hint icons to reduce “what should I draw?” hesitation ・Generate unlocks only after layer 04, nudging you to finish the piece
