myself. One of the biggest lessons? The importance of setting boundaries. When I first started, I felt like I had to say yes to every project, answer every email immediately, and be constantly available. But over time, I realized that without clear boundaries, burnout wasn’t just possible—it was inevitable. Now, I make it a point to communicate expectations early with clients, stick to a schedule that works for me, and carve out time to recharge creatively. It’s not always easy, but it’s been one of the most transformative shifts in how I approach freelancing. What about you? What’s one thing freelancing has taught you—about work, creativity, or yourself? I’d love to hear your reflections. 💡✨myself. One of the biggest lessons? The importance of setting boundaries. Freelancing Has Taught Me… ✨
Freelancing has taught me so much—not just about design, but about myself. One of the biggest lessons? The importance of setting boundaries.

Saying 'no' to things that drain me, and chasing things that give me energy. The gains are worth the case.

@Sami Downing This is so valuable! I'd love to learn more about how you actually set these boundaries and how you turned down projects in a professional way. I feel like this is something that a lot of us would be curious to learn!

@Sami Downing Yes, yes! This has been one of the biggest lessons, especially as a people-pleaser! What’s helped even more is hiring other contractors. Seeing how important it is to protect their well-being and prioritize them over clients made me realize I needed to do the same for myself!
