A jewelry website I designed 2 years ago — and one of the projects that taught me a lot about e-commerce design.
The brief was to create a modern, premium website that could make the jewelry feel as luxurious online as it does in person.
But getting there wasn't completely straightforward.
One of the biggest challenges was finding the right balance between beautiful visuals and usability. Jewelry websites can easily become too image-heavy, so I had to make sure the design still had clear navigation and a smooth customer journey.
Another challenge was creating a luxury feel without making the website feel complicated. I worked through different layouts, spacing, typography, product presentation, and visual sections before settling on the final direction.
I also had to think carefully about how the website would look across different screen sizes, especially mobile, while keeping the visual experience consistent.
Looking back two years later, this project reminds me that good web design isn't just about making something look beautiful.
It's about solving problems, making decisions, testing ideas, and creating an experience that works for the people using it.
What’s a website project that taught you the most?
