I know that everyone likes final results and visuals, but... Before I start designing, I always start with a sitemap.
It’s simple, but it makes a huge difference.
After getting the brief and brainstorming ideas, my first step is to map out the structure — every screen, state, and path a user might take.
Why?
Because a sitemap keeps things clear before things get creative.
It helps me:
→ Make sure all use cases are covered
→ Spot gaps early
→ And use it as a guide once I move to wireframes or high-fidelity designs
Too often, we rush into Figma ready to “design” — but clarity comes before creativity.
A good sitemap turns complexity into direction.
And once you have that, everything else — flows, wireframes, UI — becomes simpler, faster, and more intentional. Let me know what your process is and how it works for you. 👇
