I keep noticing the same pattern across projects. When image optimization in Next.js is set up properly, bounce rate almost always goes down.
Next.js Image helps a lot. You get automatic resizing, WebP where needed, lazy loading and responsive images without a custom pipeline. Large hero banners and galleries stop blocking the first paint, and the page feels lighter on mobile.
In practice this means users see content faster they scroll instead of closing the tab ads and SEO traffic perform better because the page loads in time.
On one real-estate landing, most performance issues came from images. After switching to Next.js Image, the page felt smoother and bounce rate dropped.

Totally agree 👍 Images are often underestimated, but they usually have the biggest impact on performance. Next.js Image really makes a difference, especially for mobile and SEO.
