45k visitors from a weekend experiment is wild. Point 5 hit home too. There's something about seeing strangers actually use what you built that no amount of user testing quite replicates.
Honestly, I came to Contra just looking for work.
But somewhere along the way, I realized — that's not the whole picture.
I've been in UI/UX for 10+ years, and at some point, you stop just doing the work and start craving something more. The competition. The community. The friction of being around people who are just as serious about craft as you are.
So here I am. Not only to land projects, but to:
— compete in challenges and see how my work holds up against the best designers in the world
— connect with people in my field who actually get what this work is about
— pick up new perspectives from colleagues I haven't met yet
— and give back where I can, because that's how this whole thing works
