Solo-owner mobile car detailer, Austin, TX (serving Round Rock, Cedar Park, and Lakeway)
Marlowe Mobile Detailing was losing about 1 in 5 bookings to no-shows and running behind on nearly every job. This build replaces a vague "can you detail my car?" text with a fully scoped, weather-aware booking flow that sets an accurate time and price upfront, captures access instructions before he arrives, and automates rain-day rescheduling so he never has to chase a customer again.
He works alone and travels to the customer. Rain cancels outdoor jobs. Customers under-describe how dirty their cars are, so jobs run long. About 20% of bookings were no-shows because people forgot he was coming to them.

Meet Sam. He runs a highly requested mobile pet grooming van in Denver, but standard booking calendars are quietly killing his margins. Because generic apps let customers pick any time slot they want, Sam spends two to three hours a day zig-zagging across the city in traffic, burning fuel and losing out on actual appointments just to accommodate a messy schedule.
To fix this, I built Paws & Puddle, a web app that solves his geographic routing nightmare before a booking ever hits the calendar. Instead of a basic form, I engineered a zero-click geo-gate. It automatically fetches a user's zip code via location services and dynamically filters the calendar to only show availability for the specific days Sam’s van is already assigned to their neighborhood.
Because forced logins instantly kill conversion rates, I designed a completely frictionless guest checkout. But to ensure long-term retention, the Thank You page features a "Guest-to-Auth" funnel that seamlessly converts their inputted data into an account post-booking, simply by asking the user to "set a password to track your van's ETA."
Backed by a full operator console where Sam can manage custom service zones, assign route days, and trigger automated status emails, this build proves that premium, minimalist design and aggressive problem-solving belong in the exact same app.

Northlight Studio — From “Can I book?” to “You’re booked.”
For this challenge, I created Northlight Studio, a fictional premium photography business based in Austin, Texas.
The problem was simple: the photographer was spending too much time handling the same repetitive tasks, answering availability questions, explaining packages, collecting client details, confirming sessions, chasing deposits, and managing rescheduling.
So instead of designing another beautiful photography website with a basic contact form, I built a complete experience that helps turn an inquiry into a confirmed booking with far less manual effort.
The website is designed to feel like a real high-end photography brand first, cinematic, visual, editorial, and portfolio-led, while the booking experience works quietly behind it.

Choose the session that fits them
Select their preferred date and time
Enter their booking details
Review pricing and deposit information
Secure their session
Receive an instant booking confirmation
I intentionally simplified the customer journey into just three main booking steps, so the process stays fast and easy without sacrificing the information the photographer needs.
Behind the experience, the system is designed to reduce the kind of admin work that usually happens through DMs, emails, spreadsheets, and repeated follow-ups.
One of my biggest goals with this project was to make the automation feel invisible.
The customer simply experiences:
Choose a session → Pick a time → Secure the booking → You’re booked.
The business owner experiences fewer messages, less scheduling back-and-forth, and more time to focus on the actual photography.

I approached this like a real client project, starting with the business problem, simplifying the workflow, then designing the experience around it.
