Projects fall through all the time when budgets shift. Client gets laid off, funding changes, priorities flip. Usually, people either walk away or drop their price. This happened to me late last year. I was working out a full Webflow build with a client. Halfway through the conversation, they told me they'd just been laid off. Budget was suddenly way tighter, but they still needed the site. Instead of bailing or cutting my rate, we split the scope. I'd handle the technical stuff - nav animations, footer interactions, GSAP work, page transitions, all the interactivity. They'd do layouts themselves since they knew Webflow. Worked out to about half the original scope for a bit over half the price. They got the site within their new budget, and I got paid fairly for what I built. When budgets change, you don't have to walk away or discount everything. Sometimes you just restructure, and both sides win.
