Update 1 - REKT // REBORN
I never thought I’d share my own story on a public platform.
But I guess Cantina managed to break through something I’ve struggled with for a long time: turning the thoughts and stories in my head into something real.
I’ve never been particularly comfortable speaking directly to a camera. Maybe this project will change that too.
I’m creating a complete original series based on stories and experiences from my own life, Things I’ve never really shared publicly.
Because I think a lot of us have lived through moments we never had the right person to honestly talk to about.
So, for the first time, I’m turning those experiences into a story.
Episode 1 is coming soon.
My own voice.

It’s a part of my life I’m finally choosing to tell.

Series title: The Grounds
Pilot title: Stay the Night
Pilot description: In dystopian Seattle, 2070, Detective Etienne Thibodeaux arrives at a secluded commune searching for Angelle Thibodeaux. He's greeted by a strange and secretive woman. When he asks about Angelle, the woman invites him to look around and stay the night without answering his question. Alone in his guest room, Etienne reveals what brought him there: Angelle is his mother. Then someone knocks at his door.
Where the series goes next: Etienne stays at the commune to find Angelle. As he gets to know its residents, he has to work out who knows where she is, why no one will answer him directly, and whether she came here by choice. All while concealing his true identity. Each discovery draws him further into the commune’s routines while making it harder to remain just a visitor. He loses track of time and feels strangely pulled toward Father Choice, the communes hidden leader. The knock at his door begins his first real encounter with what the residents have been keeping from him.
The cliffhanger got me ready to find out what happens next!
I made a new sci-fi character and a short cinematic story. It's about how our lives might be more connected than we think.
I wanted to mix sci-fi visuals that look real with spiritual ideas. I thought about things like consciousness, compassion, and the cycle of life. Instead of a usual action-packed future story, I aimed for something more emotional and that makes you think.
I created the character, wrote the story, and then used Cantina to make the character and world real in a short pilot episode.
