The goal was to create an engaging digital learning platform that builds trust, communicates the value of online education, and makes it easier for visitors to take the next step.

For technology training, I’d make the course-versus-membership choice explicit: solve one specific problem with a course, or get ongoing help through membership. Showing who each path suits beside its CTA could reduce the decision load for someone who already feels unsure about the technology.
AI Textbook with RAG Chatbot
An AI-powered interactive textbook for humanoid robotics, with a built-in RAG chatbot that answers questions from the book’s own content.
Students can highlight any passage and click “Ask about this” to get an explanation of exactly that section, or open the assistant to ask general questions. Answers stream in real time and include source citations, so readers can check where each answer came from.
Key features:
RAG pipeline grounded in the textbook content
Selected-text mode: ask about any highlighted passage
Streaming answers with source citations
Light and dark mode reading experience
Budget-friendly setup with local embeddings and a free-tier LLM
Built with Python, React and a RAG pipeline with local embeddings.
For selected-text mode, I'd keep the highlighted passage distinct from supporting passages retrieved elsewhere in the book. If a robotics equation uses a symbol defined in an earlier section, can the answer cite that definition as well as the selected equation?

So I decided to build a web app around a simple idea:
Make Christmas lists easier to create, share, and keep organized.
I built ChristmasList as a concept for making the whole process more structured instead of keeping everything scattered across chats and screenshots.
The fun part of building products isn't always the complicated technology.
Sometimes it's taking a very familiar problem and asking:
“Can software make this ridiculously simpler?”

The duplicate gift is the real problem. If people can quietly mark "I'm getting this" without the list owner seeing it, that alone would sell it to my family. My pick would be budget, there's always one person who goes way over the limit everyone agreed on.
