Day 2 of #FramerBuild — Neo-Noir Testimonial Carousel
Missed a couple of days but the challenge doesn't stop — just picks back up. Day 2 is a standalone testimonial carousel component, same Neo-Noir design language as the AXIOM hero from Day 1, different focus entirely.
The goal was to build something reusable that anyone could drop into a dark premium site without touching the CMS. Array-driven, self-contained, portable.
What went into it: • Autoplay with manual override — cycles through testimonials automatically, PREV / NEXT takes over instantly when clicked • Horizontal slide transition — 20px drift paired with an opacity fade, cubic-bezier(0.4, 0, 0.2, 1) easing. The restraint of 20px instead of a full-width slide is what makes it feel cinematic rather than functional • 1px white left border accent on the quote block — the single strongest visual element in the entire card • Top-right corner accent — two 1px lines forming an architectural ¬ shape. Purely decorative but adds tension • PREV / NEXT nav with instant colour snap on hover — 50% white to full white, no easing, intentional • Grayscale avatar with brightness(0.75) and contrast(1.25) applied — keeps the portrait from feeling warm or colourful
The card reflows at mobile width through Framer's breakpoint system, not duplication.
Day 3 coming sooner this time.
