Jhonatan Black is a 16-year-old guy who always keeps to himself. He barely speaks and doesn't really connect with anyone, leading most people in town to think he's just an arrogant snob who feels superior to everyone else. The truth, however, is very different. Jhon has been carrying a heavy secret for as long as he can remember. Up until now, he always managed to run away—moving from place to place whenever things got dangerous—but this time, they finally found him. Deep down, he knows he can't run from his fate forever.
Around him are three other key figures:
Rose: An incredibly shy girl who always puts herself last just to help others. Her grandmother calls her "Angel" because of her natural instinct to take care of everyone around her.
Mr. Gherald: The local history teacher. A gloomy man marked by the mysterious disappearance of his wife years ago, a case in which he was the sole suspect. He lives in isolation, but neighbors swear they can hear him talking to himself inside his house... and that sometimes, a woman's voice answers him in the dark.
Mark: The newest guy in town, about whom nobody knows a thing. He stays quiet, but the way he observes people and pays attention to every single detail really rubs Jhon the wrong way.

🎃 EMBERWICK: The Night That Wouldn't End
👻 A third-person ghost story for Halloween night, playable in the browser. You are the Lamplighter, carrying the Glim: a lantern with three lights.

Each light physically changes the world, so you solve the town by comparing the three, across four acts and three endings.
Features used: both the Rive CLI and GPU Canvas.
How Rive is used
• The whole HUD is a Rive file written as RML with a coding agent and built with the Rive CLI (verify, publish, push).
• One state machine with seven layers runs it: Mode, Prompt, Subtitles, Token, Memory, Act Complete and Ambient.
• A Game State view model with 15 data-bound properties is fed live by the three.js game: the current light, objective, counter, prompts, subtitles and a mode-switch trigger.
• "Echo Veil" is a full-screen WGSL shader drawn on GPU Canvas through a Luau node script. It reacts to the active light and ripples on every switch.
• Click listeners inside the file let you switch the three lights on the Rive page itself, no game needed.
• The HUD was then refined by hand in the Rive Editor: the mode pips, lettering and the timing of the switch animation.

🕯️ THE MIDNIGHT APOTHECARY
The dead can't speak. Read them.
One night a year, the dead visit Mother Ashgrove's apothecary. They can't speak, so you read the signs they carry, brew the right potion and send them home before midnight. Each soul you help comes back to life for a moment, leaves you a last line and lights a candle.
Some places feel like memories even if you've never been there. For me, an old apothecary at midnight is one of them: candlelight on glass jars, rain against the window, something strange simmering on the fire. This game is that feeling, and a quiet place where the dead can finally be heard.

Rive CLI + Rive Markup: the whole scene written from the command line by my coding agent and refined live in the preview
GPU Canvas: 10 WGSL shaders, including the ghost static and resolve, a real fire, the swirling brew, candlelight, fog, rain, the crystal ball and the room effects
Scripting: 48 Luau scripts run the nights, visitors, stirring and bottles
Data Binding: 1,160 bindings, with data-bound lists for the Ledger and the Gathering
State Machines, events, audio, nested artboards, constraints, bones, blend states and feathering

🖋️ HUMAN TOUCH
This is my first project in Rive. I designed and directed it over 21 build steps, playing every version and art-directing every prop and character: the haunted shop with its real fire, a candelabra that lights one blood-dripping candle for every soul you send home, a sober velvet witch whose face stays hidden, and 24 visitors who each have their own story and their own bottle.

Something that knocks instead of drifting… and one last visitor you won't expect
